Waste Stream Technology, Inc.
(WST)
A Western New York leader in the
analytic testing of environmental samples.
Established in 1987, WST prides itself on providing excellent service and
high quality analytical data. Expert attention from our laboratory managers
and Quality Assurance/Control staff, who have years of experience performing
analyses and reviewing environmental data, ensures accurate and reliable
analytic results. WST is dedicated to your company. We will customize
container schemes, analyses, and reports to your specific project and needs.
Expedited results can be provided in as few as 6 hours, if scheduled. We have
a state-of-the-art Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which
allows for immediate tracking and reporting of all samples, viewable to you
in real time, on-line at www.wastestream.com.
Waste Stream Technology is your Full Service environmental laboratory.

Analytical
Our certified analytical department is top-rated in performing and reviewing
analytical data. Our staff has over 50 years of combined experience in the
field and laboratory setting. Confidence and attention to detail set WST
apart, and ensure the accuracy of data to each and every client. Our
analytical department has capabilities that include, but are not limited to,
the following:
- GC/MS – Semivolatile
analysis (TCL, Priority Pollutants, NYS STARS list, TCLP)
- GC/MS – Volatile analysis
(TCL, Priority Pollutants, NYS STARS list, TCLP)
- GC – Semivolatile
analyses (PCB’s Pesticides, Herbicides, DRO)
- GC – Volatile analysis (NYS
STARS list by 8021B, GRO, Dissolved gases)
- Metals – (Full list of
metals by ICP and Graphite Furnace, Mercury by Cold Vapor analysis)
- Conventional Chemistry –
(Cyanide, Sulfide, Phenols, Phosphorus, Ammonia, BOD, COD, Ion
Chromatography, Oil & Grease/TEH, TOC)
 Radiochemistry
In 1999, Waste Stream Technology expanded and implemented a Radiochemistry
Department, presently one of only a few laboratories certified in New York State. The Radchem
department currently holds certification by the NYDOH, UDOH, NJDEP, PADEP,
CTDOH, MADEP, MDDEP and the USACE. The primary focus is on the analysis of potable water
for Gross Alpha, Gross Beta, Radium-226, Radium-228, Isotopic Uranium,
Isotopic Thorium, and Gamma Spectroscopy/Photon Emitters. In addition, we are
capable of analyzing a variety of matrices including non-potable water, soil,
air filters, bioassay (urine) and smears.

Research & Development
Waste Stream Technology routinely
performs biological, solidification/stabilization, and dewatering
treatability studies on sludge, solids, and
semi-solid matrices. These bench scale studies are invaluable to our clients
in:
- Generating Budget Estimates
- Guiding Project Development
- Evaluating Treatment
Processes
- Satisfying Agency, Client,
and Consultant Concerns
Treatability studies for the chemical fixation of heavy metals are
conducted through the use of Sevenson
Environmental Services’ patented MAECTITE® chemical treatment process.
The process may be used to treat RCRA metal contaminated material, and has
been successful in rendering heavy metal contaminated samples non-hazardous
by RCRA definition. Dewatering treatability studies
employ a wide range of chemical coagulants and flocculants to test for their
ability to enhance solid/water separation, and subsequent mechanical
dewatering. Waste Stream’s on-site certified analytical laboratory enables
all required analyses to be performed in house, keeping treatability
costs low and allowing for rapid turn around time on results.

WST Bioblends for use in
Bioremediation
Waste Stream Bioblends are comprised of microorganisms, specifically bacteria, that are ubiquitous in nature. They are primary
isolates of indigenous soil organisms from sites nation wide. Extensive
laboratory testing has shown that WST Bioblends are non-pathogenic to plants,
animals, or humans.
WST Bioblends are a bacteria/nutrient mix, and are cultured in a highly
refined, nutrient specific media. Each application includes a viable culture
of unique contaminant degrading bacteria and essential soil nutrients.
The Research and Development Laboratory at Waste Stream Technology has an
inventory of tested microorganisms capable of remediating
gasoline, fuel oils, lubricating oils, cutting oils, crude oil, turbine oils,
oil tar, PAH compounds, and solvents.

 Pricing assumes standard
laboratory QA/QC and a standard laboratory report. Sample containers, local
delivery and pick up of samples can be arranged at no charge. Standard
turnaround analyses will be reported by the close of business, ten business
days after sample receipt. Performance experience ranges from Superfund,
Military and Army Corps sites, to UST, SPDES and smaller solitary sites. Waste
Stream Technology currently holds certification by NELAC through:
